LEADERSHIP
A\Z LA is lead by Andrew Zientek who is committed to healing the land and making beautiful places. Andrew practices as a licensed landscape architect, gardener, artist, educator, and DSWA certified dry-laid stone waller. His hands are often dirty.
Andrew previously led the landscape effort for multi-discplinary firm Weiss/Manfredi in New York where he designed the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Robert W. Wilson Overlook project. He also worked with plantsman Piet Oudolf in Holland, designer Vito Acconci Studio in Brooklyn, and EDAW in China. He earned a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design and a BSLA from University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Andrew has taught landsape, urban design and architecture courses as Associate Professor at CCNY and Columbia GSAPP as well as lecturer at Harvard’s GSD. He has lectured nationally including both ASLA and AIA national conferences on design, resilience, and preparing for a complex and uncertain future in the face of climate change.
Currently Andrew is proud to serve on the Board of Directors for the Landscape Architecture Foundation. www.lafoundation.org
